FACULTY OVERVIEW

The School of Health Sciences in Kisii University is one of the eight Schools dedicated to imparting knowledge for advancement of humanity in the Discipline of Human Health and related sciences. Having been established in March, 2010; the School has greatly expanded with increase Faculty members and infrastructure

Vision Statement

The School of Health Sciences at Kisii University, acknowledging its role in training of Health professionals in furthering knowledge through research and its responsibility to be relevant and responsive to the health needs of the community it serves, and of the country will be;

  • The School of Health Sciences of choice for undergraduate and professional training particularly in the western region, offering modern and relevant curricula and facilities.
  • A School with a supportive, efficient, effective and service-oriented administration.

Objectives

The School Objectives are:

  • Train health professionals who should be able to perform at the highest level of professional competence, both academically and practically;
  • Train students who are able to apply the process of critical thinking and reasoning to various health problems;
  • Be able to plan and implement training and educational programmes for the community health worker;
  • Conduct research and implement outreach programmes to the community health needs;
  • Train graduates who are innovative, ethical and able to contribute to the development of own skills, knowledge and attitude.
